Galaxie is a unique cultural project that brings together five major cultural institutions into one place.
Dejvice Theatre, Minor Theatre, 4 + 4 Days in Motion, DanceConnected and The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) are breathing new life into the abandoned halls of the former multiplex cinema at the Háje metro station. In a unique collaboration, they are creating new opportunities for local communities, audiences of established cultural organisations, and for their own further development. In September 2025, the Galaxie cultural station opened for one year to all lovers of culture across genres.
Galaxie is not merely an information platform, but also a space for mutual cooperation and the sharing of artistic visions, creating a lively cultural ecosystem open to all viewers. The platform was originally established out of the Dejvice Theatre's need to find a replacement space for the duration of a major renovation of the home venue in Dejvice. After a series of more or less unsuccessful searches, an opportunity arose to temporarily revive the abandoned premises of what was once the largest multiplex cinema in Central Europe.
